Samoan writing in pencil on front endpaper. green cloth binding (probably original). The Rev. George Pratt, a missionary, lived in Samoa from 1839 to 1879 and was the first person to document the Samoan language. This book is the first edition of his dictionary printed in Samoa on the Missionary Society's press. The dictionary also contains four pages of Samoan poetry.
