About This Item

Louisville: Kentucky Alliance Against Racist and Political Repression, 1978. Handbill. 8.5x14 inch handbill with petition on the back, the petition signed by four people. Gold-creased and toned. Harris was due to be executed for the killing of a prison guard in a case that drew attention from Amnesty International. A judge later granted Harris a new trial because the prosecution did not disclose another inmate's statement that he had not been the one who killed the guard. His murder conviction was dismissed in 1987.
