About This Item
London: J. Harris and Sons, 1832. Second Edition. Hardcover. very Good/very good. Half Calf. Very Good. 8vo. 17 by 10 cm. xvi, 152 pp., and with 28 copper engraved plates, each with three small illustrations, and a fold-out of England and Wales as the frontis. The illustrations combine views and sights with scenes of people going about their professions and avocations, and depicted also are sports, military engagements, and some historic scenes to boot. These are entrancing miniatures, and they are entrancing in part because they are miniatures. There is a light water stain which has affected the plates rather than the text pages; the cover is slightly dusty, leather spine a little wormed, else a very good copy.
