About This Item
Amsterdam, Netherlands: Wereld-Bibliotheek-Vereniging, 1964. Small hardcover without dust jacket, 95 pages;---this appears to be the paperback edition (with the beautifully illustrated covers by Sacha) professionally rebound into hardcovers in the same predominantly brown shade as the paperback covers, but is otherwise very plain with only the title in gilt on the front cover, and the author and title again in gilt on the spine;--- text in Dutch;---"Dit is nummer 39" of this limited edition;--- hardly a trace of shelf wear, dust speckling to top edge, light foxing spots to the page edges and just a few scattered pages, attractive bookplate designed by previous owner (Dutch-Canadian silhouette artist and graphic designer Hans-Detlev Voss who still lived and worked in The Netherlands during the 1930s/1940s; this is his personal copy acquired from his estate) inside front cover, all pages otherwise very clean and unmarked.
