Private owner's printed book label affixed to front free endpaper, mild age darkening to the spine with slight wear to spine ends, a very good to nearly fine copy. (24980). Octavo, pp. [1-6] 7-277 [278: ad] [279: publisher's device] [280: blank], six full page illustrations in the text by Max Odoy who also made the cover illustration, title page printed in blue and black, original pictorial blue cloth, front and spine panels stamped in orange, yellow and black, top edge stained brown. Gail's first SF novel, a fictional treatment of mankind's first step into space. The story was translated into English by Francis Currier and published as "The Shot into Infinity" in Hugo Gernsback's SCIENCE WONDER QUARTERLY, Fall 1929.
