Includes many pages devoted to the Columbian Exposition including many illustrations. This volume is a trove of early American science , invention and technology during an era of accelerating progress from "Norton's Automatic Water Gate," "Carr's Feed-Water Regulator" and "Moving A Bridge By Rail," to pages of quaint ads for printing telegraphs, bicycles and wood screws. A steam-punk's delight!
