London, George Virtue, 1838. Two Volumes. Large Hardbacks, approx 11 x 8.5 inches. Halfbound leather fine bindings; dark green calf tot spines and corners, marbled paper boards. Decorative spine banding and twin red leather spine labels. Marbled endpapers and page edges. In very good condition. Some wear to covers, corners bumped with a couple of corners chipped. Surface nicks/chips to leather around extremities, some rubbing to boards. Endpapers clean, no previous owners inscriptions. Engraved title pages with quite dark foxing, Most plates have dark foxing throughout. Map has tear to folded corner. Pages with some mild foxing else overall clean and tight. Else a very good set. viii + 200 & 164pp. Illustrated with 120 full-page B&W engraved plates, including decorative title page vignettes. Complete with fold-out map in vol.1.
