A very good book in a very good or better jacket, which is not price-clipped. Inscribed by Waugh on the front free endpaper: "John & Mary, with love from Evelyn." The gilt lettering on the book's spine is rubbed but still readable; endpapers browned. Jacket has rubbing to extremities, a closed tear to the rear flap fold, and light toning to the rear panel.
