London: Macmillan & Co. Bound in blue cloth, with extensive gilt decoration to front board and spine, featuring gilt figures and animals climbing and cavorting around margins of front board. X1/228pp+ 16pp Macmillan list at end. with two page battle scene by Doyle as frontis (Foxed) and other illustrations set in text. Scattered foxing throughout & e.p's slightly stained. A.E.G. Some minor damage to top/tail of spine: corners worn and bumped. The letter 'u' missing from the word 'up' on page 60. General condition Good plus . Good. Pictorial Cloth. First Edition. 1859.
