Montreal: John Dougall & Son, " Witness" Office. Very Good. 1893. Hardcover. 323 p. 19 cm. Sound and square binding in brown cloth covered boards. Wear to the corners and spine ends. Small stain mark on the upper board. Impressions marks on lower board (from something pressing against it). Rubbing and light scratches overall. Foxing to edges of text block. Front hinge is partially cracked. Previous owner's name on front free endpaper. Inside pages are unmarked, with one leaf having an edge tear and crease. A selection of over 50 short stories written by school children for the Montreal Witness newspaper, based on events which had happened in the country, and compiled into this book. Each story is credited to the child that wrote it along with his or her place of residence. .
