Very good+ in blue cloth covered boards with gilt text and decorations on the spine with the cloth at . the extreme lower edge of the front board worn through; else, near fine. In a very good- unclipped dust jacket with 1/4" deep chipping to the upper edge of the spine area and numerous shallow chips to the fold to the front flap. 286 pages including a bibliography followed by an index and a fold-out map showing the gold regions of California from a broadside of 1850.
