About This Item
London: Cassell, 1961. First Edition. Hard Cover. Dust Jacket. First UK Edition. Publisher's turquoise boards with gilt lettering to the spine. A fine (or better) copy in a near fine D/W that would be fine except for a neat archival mend (on the verso) at the head of the spine. The back panel is beautifully clean and this copy shows really well. The basis for the 1964 movie of the same name directed by Bryan Forbes and starring Kim Stanley, Richard Attenborouigh and Margaret Lacey. Superb period D/W artwork by JN (John Norbury). Photographs/scans available upon request.
