About This Item
1815 SECRET Memoirs 1ed Napoleon Bonaparte Napoleonic WARS Waterloo Revolution
"Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake."
– Napoléon Bonaparte
Napoléon Bonaparte was the most prominent Military leader during the French Revolution and led many successful campaigns, dominated European, and global affairs for more than a decade. In the years following the French Revolution and Napoleonic Wars, the French public was interested in the life of Napoleon and his armies.
Charles Doris, who claimed to have viewed Napoleon from a distance for many years, wrote a biographical sketch of Napoleon, in which he writes out of sympathy for Napoleon – noting his lack of friendships, his barbaric mindset, and his desire only to be victorious in battle. 'Secret Memoirs' as it is known is a rare account of Napoleon's life and military career, published following Napoleon's defeat at Waterloo.
