About This Item
The Secret of the Silver Bottle by Caleb Hawker (Blackie & Son Limited, reprint [1945]*), illustrated by Ernest Prater.
A children's mystery/detective story originally published in 1936*, this copy being the later post-war printing from 1945. Three plates by Ernest Prater (a later printing had just the frontispiece). Another edition in 1957 was illustrated by Betty Ladler.
Hardback in dustwrapper. 223pp plus b/w plates. Size: 7.5 x 5.25 inches approx. (192mm x 132mm).
Light wear and rubbing to dustwrapper; sunned/faded to spine; dusty; pencilled note to front flap. Boards and spine clean and bright, a little rubbed to extremities. Edges of page-block dusty with some spotting but generally pages clean through out.
Overall, light wear but otherwise a particularly nice, clean copy - attractive.
