First edition hardcover with dust jacket, published by Holt, Rinehart, Winston, 1964. The dust jacket is intact and is not price clipped. 645 pages, with Index, and Appendixes. Organized chronologically, with chapters based on where Frost lived at the time. Each chapter includes extensive introductory information by Thompson. Also includes a Chronology, Genealogy, Table of Letters, and a section of photos picturing some of Frost's letters. This copy is not a remainder, not a library discard. No former ownership marks, no writing on the text pages. Sturdy brick red colored cloth covered boards, with the title imprinted on the spine in gold. Boards are flat, the lettering on the spine is crisp and not rubbed or worn, corners are not bumped or creased. Dust jacket shows some edge wear to the tips of the corners, minor shallow chips marks to the head and heel of the spine, one very short closed tear at the top edge of about 1/2". Sturdy sewn binding with heavy-weight paste-down pages and flyleaf pages. Edges of the text block are relatively clean with no foxing spots. Attached photo is of the copy we have in our inventory.
