About This Item

Sells Brothers, 1882. 10 x 7.5 inch handbill promoting the "Sells Brother's Six Enormous Railroad Shows Now United" performance in Wichita, Kansas on Tuesday, August 1, [1882]. Printed by the Storbridge Lith Co. of Cincinnati. The front side is a chromolithograph showing a zebra, a giraffe, and a camel in a jungle-like background. The verso is black print detailing the animals and titled "Lessons in Natural History / Dedicated to the Children of America." The text of the animal descriptions is all in single syllables. Scattered light wear and chips on edges, and there is a one half inch closed tear from the right edge. There are also a couple of light scuffs affecting the image just a little. Light smudges, offsetting, and age is noted on the verso. Very scarce and still attractive.. First Edition, Thus. Loose Leaf. Good/No Dust Jacket.
