The Sensitive Plant is a poem composed by Percy Bysshe Shelley. The poem was written following the death of his child, Will, and the subsequent despondency of his wife, Mary Shelley, while they stayed in Pisa, Italy. The poem is four stanzas long and written in the style of the fable genre, and it describes a garden of flowers tended by an unnamed Lady. The titular "sensitive plant," the mimosa, stands out amongst the flowers.
