About This Item
NY: Harcourt Brace & Co., 1948. Bound in black cloth, stamped in gold (without any of the usual fading). Housed in a nice second state dustwrapper (with the $3.00 price on the front flap and the statement "Author on the Left" on the rear panel). The book states "first edition" on the copyright page, but is apparently a second state. The previous owner (Fr. J. Matlos) signed the book on the title page and the dedication page. Some minor chipping to top edges of dust jacket (not affecting any text). A tight, clean copy of this important work by Merton. 429 pp. One of 6000 copies in the first edition. Ref.: DellI'sola A8a. . First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good ++/Very Good +.
