Dust jacket colorful wrap-a-round pictorial with two color photgraphs on the back with Lowell Thomas and Cambodia scenes. Receipt from Membership Secretary laid in. Of alll the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World only one, the Pyriamids remains standing. but Lowell Thomas deals not only with the tourist attractions of the antiquity but takes you to the wonders of the world today. Not merely seven, but seven-fold. The idea for this book came from the 1956 Cinerama production of the same name. Lowell Thomas, of course, was the popular news commentator of the day who travelled widely either reporting the news of making news himself. He was friend of Lawrence of Arabial and well known throught the Middles East, Far East, and Africa. Some of the places he photographed and wrote about in this book are: Mount Olympus, The Acropolis, The Leaning Tower of Pisa, Mount Vesuvius, The Colosseum at Rome, St Peter's, Victoria Falls, The Rub' al Khali in Arabia, The Great Rift Valley, A School For Elephants in the Belgian Congo, Timbuktu, The Holy Land, The Bahrein Oil Fields, The Taj Mahal, The Ghats along the Ganges, The Mimalayan-Darjeeling Railroad, The Ruins of Angkor Vat and more.
