About This Item

London: Harper Collins., 2004. First edition, first printing. Signed by the author. Octavo. Publisher's original dark blue cloth with titles in silver to the spine, in dustwrapper. 326pp. A near fine copy, the binding square and tight with just a touch of pushing to the spine ends and a very minor indentation to the upper board; the contents remain clean and crisp throughout. Complete with the very good dustwrapper which has a little fading to the spine panel, a 4cm closed tear to the joint of the upper flap, and a couple of minor nicks to the extremities. Not price-clipped. Signed in black ink on the title page by Boris Johnson. The first edition of former prime minister Boris Johnson's first novel, a semi-autobiographical political satire in which an MP not unlike Johnson seeks to foil a terrorist plot in order to distract from his own personal scandals.
