This is a Very Good copy of the First American Edition, surprisingly scarce considering the fame of the author. Dark blue cloth binding with titling and the image of a sailing ship in gilt. Clean text; 197 pages. Text is nicely bright and clear, Small spot on edge of front cover; some very light rub to the margins. Evidence of erasure or label removal to the first free endpaper; some light spotting to the page ends. Spine has darkened, with the gilt a bit dulled. All still readable. The dustjacket is complete, unclipped, but is from a Later Printing. Spine has darkened; rubbed at tips, with some small chips. In an archival plastic protector. A very solid copy.. First American Edition.. Hard Cover. Very Good/Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
