About This Item
Oxford Publishing Co.. Very Good/Very Good. 1975. Hard Cover. 4to 0902888617 Dust jacket complete, unclipped. Original cloth boards with bright gilt titling on spine. No ownership marks. Numerous photograph. 96 pages clean and tight. Dick Bienkinsop was born in Warwick in 1930 and his early interest in railways did not mature until after the Second World War. He is emphatic that, while his favourite railway is the Great Western, any steam locomotive, both here and abroad, has its own fascinating appeal for him. A trained engineer, he has restored a 1938 steam roller and is now working on a 1920 Garrett steam motor tractor. Amongst his other interests is listening to good music. This he believes has strong connections with the romance of the railways. Many of his large collection of photographs have been seen over the years in the railway journals and also in his first series of albums. .
