New York: Worthington Co., 1888 Apparently one of the early pirated editions of Haggard's famous work. This copy in elaborate decorative blue-green cloth with black and gilt decorations. Spine extremities are chipped with cloth splitting at lower front gutter [boards solid], edgewear, front hinge starting [paper is split, cloth underneath is solid. The pages are evenly tanned with the text in fine condition. A book with wear but contents read once, if at all.

Synopsis

"She" is Ayesha, the mysterious white queen of a Central African Tribe-and the goal of three English gentlemen, who must face shipwreck, fever, and cannibals in their quest to find her hidden realm.
