Illustrated cover, showing a young man with a gun and a game bag on his shoulder ( showing a dead bird in his bag ) standing amongst some grass, rendered in gilt. He has a background of red coloured cloth. There is another illustration which shows a jungle lagoon with a crocodile's head on the water against a background of darker green and red colouration and there is a touch of gilt in some of the grasses as well, lower right-hand corner of the front panel.
