Black coloured cloth covered boards with gilt coloured facsimile signature of author to the front panel and gilt coloured titles to the back strip. Plaintext dustwrapper brown coloured titles to the front panel and back strip. Sherwood Anderson died on March 8, 1941. He had mostly completed his autobiography at the time of death; and, it deals with the growth, both success and failure, of himself during his lifetime. Softening of the back strip edges some rubbing of the top book corners and lower book edges. Age toning of the text edges and pages faint offset tanning to the end pages. Chipping to the dustwrapper corners and back strip, and, there is some rubbing and creasing of the top dustwrapper edge. Sunning to the back strip along with some rubs and marks, and the panels similarly show sunning and rubs, albeit on a lighter scale there is a stain to the lower 2 inches of the rear fold over crease.
