Bound in the original notoriously fragile printed blue-green titled wrappers. 55 pages plus covers.The First Edition in book form. Carlyle published this screed after he was angered by the passage of the Reform Bill of 1867 and by the emancipation of the American slaves and the outcome of the Civil War, Covers chipped as usual, with a penned 19th century date (11/10/67) to cover. Text a bit soiled, some corner bending, else good overall condition. NOT EX-LIBRARY.
