Intro by Harold J Laski. First Edition 1938. The copy offered has a presentation plate to the front paste down to W R Spence (William Robert 1875-1954) from the National Union of Seamen. Spence served as General Secretary of the Union from 1931-1941 and also on the general council of The Trades Union Congress, retiring to Shoreham Sussex. Good no dust jacket (Book- shelf rubbing to cloth at extremities- colour loss only, presentation plate as above, a few corners turned in the course of a reading.
