Macmillan,, 1928. 8vo., First Collected Edition, with endpaper maps; handsomely bound in dark red full crushed morocco, sides with gilt frame border, back with raised bands, second and fourth compartments lettered and ruled in gilt, all other compartments tooled in gilt, gilt top, hand-made endpapers, ribbon marker, a most attractive copy ideal as a gift or for presentation. With 2pp. publisher's catalogue bound in at end. The endpaper maps are taken from the Wessex Edition. This is the first collected edition of Hardy's four collections of short stories: 'Wessex Tales', 'Life's Little Ironies', 'A Group of Noble Dames' and 'A Changed Man and other Tales'. It was published posthumously on 23 March 1928 at 7s. 6d. Purdy, p.288
