London, 1896. Keulemans was one of the most prolific of the 19th century illustrators of birds. He was known for his accurate and realistic portrayals. In the lithograph offered her, the soft pastels of the lithographed background nicely set off the bright vibrant handcoloring of the magnificent cranes. The prints in Dresser's book were issued in 93 parts between 1871 and 1896. The condition of this original lithograph is excellent: generally clean and bright; paper only faintly toned; paper only faintly toned. A really striking image.. First Edition. Paper. Very Good+. Illus. by J. G. Keulemans. Large Quarto (12 1/2" X 9 1/2"). Fine Art Print.
