Very large, very heavy book (Additional Postage May Be Required), very bright embossed gilt title at top front, very bright gilt lettering on spine, dark brown color inside covers and adjacent end papers, 192 heavy glossy pages, profusely illustrated througout with art and antiquities. Essays include "A Mighty Metaphor" by Donald Kuspit, "Psychoanalysis and the Legacies of Antiquity" by Ellen Hander Spitz and others. DJ glossy, a small wingled statue photo on front, background and border in shades of red, a color photo of Freud's library on all of back. DJ has a surface nick to front bookfold edge, small nick at spine top right, tiny ripples at top back edge, light scratch down middle back. Very Good DJ/Very Fine book.
