Measures 5.5" x 8.25". Signature by Alice Walker on title page, dated "1/28/96". The first African American woman to win the Pulitzer Prize for fiction, Walker's fourth book and first collection of short stories is about Black women throughout the US from all different backgrounds, classes and social circumstances, united by their vulnerability to life. The book served as a basis for her term "womanism," which referred to activism for women of color. Ex US Army Library Copy with stamp on pastedown and tape on spine. Dust Jacket Cover is clean. Overall, in very good condition.
