Authentically signed acknowledgement of bereavement card, 4.25" x3", engraved with the printed message: "Your kind expressions of sympathy are gratefully acknowledged and deeply appreciated", boldly signed "Alexis Jean Fournier- To my dear Gail & Larrino." *Verso of this card is dated Feb. 3, 1937, just weeks after the death of Fournier's second wife. Excellent condition.<br/> <br/> American artist best remembered for his naturalistic paintings of Minneapolis and St. Paul landmarks. In 1903 he moved to East Aurora, New York and joined the Roycroft Arts Community under the leadership of Elbert G. Hubbard, becoming its permanent art director until 1915.<br/> <br/>
