4th March 1828 1828. VG. Letter tipped in to bespoke folder (folder measuring 32 x 38cm). 'My Dear Sir, Do me the (?) to send the enclosed by the first opportunity, truly yours, F Marryat'. Addressed on the verso and having, in another hand, "Fredk. Marryat / Rec'd 4th March 1828". Mark from a wax seal on the verso and a small hole on the corresponding piece that folds across it. A red postal stamp also on the verso. Small chip and partial paperclip mark at one corner. Provenance: Folder by Documents and Autographs Ltd, 6 Stratford Place, W1. with their printed and typed label on the back, showing stock number "Doc. 2683", and "Captain Marryat 1792 - 1848" in gilt to the top fore edge corner of the front cover.
