Terre Haute, IN: Terre Haute Fairgrounds Speedway, 1958. A fantastic piece of Midwest dirt track racing history, SIGNED by legendary drivers A.J. Foyt, Eddie Sachs. Elmer George, Tommy Hinnershitz, Ed Elisian , and Joe Barzda, with 2 more signatures too faint for me to decipher. SIGNED in ink front cover by Foyt, George, Sachs, and Hinnershitz, in pencil ( right margin) by Barzda, at rear cover in ink by Ed Elisian, and at his photo on page 7 in ink again by George. A.J. Foyt- the first 4-time winner of the Indy 500, a true racing legend. Eddie Sachs- known as the "Clown Prince of Auto Racing", who was killed in the 1964 Indy 500 won by Foyt, Elmer George- who retired from racing in 1963 and then served as vice-president of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Tommy Hinnershitz, "The Flying Dutchman" one of the most popular sprint-car drivers in racing history. Ed Elisian - who was killed in a USAC Champ car race crash at Milwaukee just a year later, in 1959. Joe Barzda - whose career spanned 1934-1959, and who quit racing in 1959 after the fatal crash of Van Johnson and later along with his brother operated the Californian Speed and Sport Shop in New Jersey, fielding cars in many races. This SIGNED program comes with The Indianapolis Times Speedway Extra 5th Edition newspaper, dated Saturday, May 30, 1964, headlined "A.J. FOYT WINS '500' - 7-Car Crash Kills Sachs, McDonald" ( Very Good, paper uniformly browned) . The program is about Very Good, 12 pp. stapled, wrinkling and creasing, light soiling, 6" lateral tear p.3. Day of race original pencil notations pp. 10 and 11 for the 4 heat finishes, with car number, driver name and place in that heat, and some lap times. These were either sprint or midget races- program doesn't state what races or the month and day of the races, just the year 1958. The program includes standings and results for 1957 for both car types, as well as stories and photos. The six signatures that are clearly legible are all legends of 1950's midget and sprint car racing, which were the proving grounds for many Indy 500 and NASCAR racers, and as a group are unique and RARE.. SIGNED. First Edition. Pamphlet. Very Good. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall.

An attractive print, the advertisement offers 'chioccolatta d'ogni sorte' for a variety of prices, beneath an internal view of Guado's premises in Calle Larga in San Marco. Set within an ornamental rococo frame with the shop's 'la nave' sign depicted above, the scene shows a wealthy clientele in a spacious chocolate-house, drinking hot chocolate, with beans being ground in the foreground.
OCLC shows no copies of the engraving. The original copper plate survives in the Civica Raccolta delle Stampe Achille Bertarelli, in Milan.

Description:
New York: The Limited Editions Club. Near Fine. 1995. Limited Edition. Hardcover. 1st Edition. Revelation was written at the height of Christians prosecution by the Romans and the book as inspired many past literary masterpieces by the likes of Dante and Milton. For this edition the great American artist Allan Rohan Crite was inspired to produce fifteen relief engravings for possibly the ultimate illustrated edition of the book of Revelations. Revelations passionately speak against the power of evil and encourage Christians to resist even at the cost of martyrdom. Many critics considers this to be Crite's finest religious work. One volume (16 x 22 inches) Relief engravings were printed on Japanese paper and mounted on heavy paper handmade in Pescia Italy. Volume is handbound in burgundy linen and the solander box covered in black Italian cotton. The inset is Nigerian goatskin and the title stamped in 22-karat gold. The book is in NF condition with a few slight marks visible on the…

Chicago: The University of Chicago Press, 1976. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Fine/Very Good. Signed and inscribed second printing (in first edition jacket) of Maclean's collection of semi-autobiographical short fiction, a now-classic of Western literature and fly fishing, whose title novella formed the basis for the 1992 Robert Redford-directed film of the same name. Maclean's inscription, on the front endpaper, reads: "University of Chicago, / April 15, 1979. / To Bobby: / With deep affection and best wishes. / Norman". Although we can only guess at the identity of the inscribee--perhaps a former colleague at the University of Chicago, or a friend at the Press--Maclean's warm inscription and use of first name only suggests that the two were quite close. Octavo (5.75 x 8.75 in.); xiv, 217pp.; blue cloth boards, silver spine lettering. Second printing, as designated by number line and corrected ISBN on copyright page (but with the uncorrected misprinting of "always" as…
