Expressionist play about the First World War, written between 1927 and 1928 by the Irish playwright Seán O'Casey, which attacks imperialist wars and the suffering that they cause. 139pp with 8 pages of music from the play to rear and illustrated with tissue guarded black and white portrait of the author to frontis. Cloth spine over green paper covered boards with title labels glued to top board and spine. Fore-edges untrimmed. Edges age-toned, spine somewhat soiled and slight foxing to endpapers, otherwise good copy with no inscriptions..
