London: H.F. & G. Witherby, 1925. First Edition. Hardcover. Good. 244 pp, with frontispiece, 11 plates, an attractive folding "Sketch Plan of the N.E. Face of the Simen Escarpment," and five full-page maps in the text. Bound in original green cloth. Old dampstain visible at rear joint and on rear endpapers (only), upper corners bumped, bookplate of the Frank Chambon Campbell African Collection on the front pastedown. Binding sound, text clean. Czech p. 186-87: "Accompanied by Captain G. Blaine, Maydon set out in 1922 for the mysterious Simen Mountains along the northwestern edge of the Abyssinian Plateau. While much of his narrative provides excellent details regarding the terrain and peoples of the region, there are important sporting adventures after the elusive Wallia ibex....A well paced work reminiscent of the turn-of-the century sporting books set in the Himalayas or Pamirs.
