About This Item

NY: Avon Books. 1997. 373pp. Ex-library, with associated markings: a sticker on the mylar cover at the bottom of the spine; a library stamp on the top edge of the pages; another on the title page, along with a discard stamp; an acquisition date stamp on the back of the title page; another stamp at the bottom of page 99; and, finally, a bar code sticker and the remains of the card pocket on the page opposite the back cover. The d.j. is in excellent condition, as it is inside a clear mylar cover and taped to the book. There is a non-sticky spot where a sticker was removed from the front panel of the mylar. There is a small stain on a few pages at the top open corner, not affecting anything. For all these defects, the text is clean and the book is otherwise unmarked. (57478) . Very Good. 0380973952 . First Edition. Hardcover.

Synopsis

Brianna "Bree" O'Brien never retumed from Skeleton Canyon. Someone brutally murdered the pretty, popular teenager who had stolen away undercover of darkness to rendezvous with her boyfriend, Ignacio Ybarra. Perhaps youthful rage, jealousy and savage passion cost young Bree herlife. Or maybe she stumbled onto something too dangerous to know.Sheriff Joanna Brady of Cochise County knows only too well the pain of losing a loved one to violence. But she is disturbed by the O'Briens' blind insistence that Ignacio is responsible for their daughter's slaying. Joanna senses there are words not being spoken, and dark mysteries locked behind doors of the sprawling O'Brien family compound. But it is the strange disappearance of a good friend that is pulling Sheriff Brady ever closer to the lethal nest of lies, greed and secrets hiding in a desolate corner of the Arizona desert--where the next blood that feeds the parched, cracked earth could be her own.

Terms of Sale

Books, Etc.

Items are 12mo. or 8vo or 4to. in original binding and in at least good condition unless otherwise noted. The dust jacket condition will be noted separately in the item description. Items are subject to prior sale, though we update our online inventory to remove sold books in a timely manner. Most books are posted with at least a picture of the cover, with other pictures of notable features or defects. Additional pictures of any item are available upon request. We strive to accurately and comprehensively describe the condition of each item for sale and will gladly provide further details if asked. Standard shipping in the U.S. will go by USPS Media Rate; faster shipping will go by USPS Priority Mail. The shipping costs are based on most books weighing 2 - 4 pounds (1 - 2 kg). International shipping will cost more, unfortunately. Large, heavy books may require additional postage, but we will try to avoid this if we can. If feasible, dust jackets will be placed in protective sleeves before shipping. If you don't like the protective sleeve, they are easy to remove without harming the dust jacket. We ship books protected by bubble wrap in carefully-taped boxes. For Priority Mail, we will usually box the book, then place the box inside a Priority Mail flat-rate envelope; most Priority Mail boxes are either too large or too small for individual books. The "shipping times" are usually accurate, but delays can happen, as we have no influence on the national or international delivery industry! A tracking number for your package is available upon request. USPS Priority Mail shipping includes insurance. All orders may be returned for any reason within 30 days of receipt.
