About This Item

Collins, London, 1964. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good Condition/Good. Illustrator: Dr. Seuss. 535 g.; not paginated. Illustrated end papers, showing a Dr Seuss character in bed, reading a book which says " This Book Is to Be Read In Bed ". The text is illustrated as only Dr Seuss can. With wonderful characters and names for his characters that he is renowned for. Blue coloured boards with black text writing to the back strip. Illustrated dustjacket, by Dr Seuss, with white background with red and blue text writing to the front panel and back strip. Clipping of the dustwrapper, front fold over, lower right-hand corner. A delightful book from Dr Seuss about the wonders of sleep. the dustjacket has a lot of tearing across the top edge, on either side of the spine, but surprisingly no loss in that area, nor is there loss at the bottom of the spine where there is tearing and creasing. as can be seen in one of the images, some person has crossed out the last word of text and substituted another, possibly their name stop no other annotations. Just a shame about the jacket. Size: 4to 9¾" - 12" tall. Please refer to accompanying picture (s). Illustrator: Dr. Seuss. Quantity Available: 1. Shipped Weight: Under 1 kilo. Category: Children; Inventory No: 0282705. .

Dr. Seuss’s long list of awards includes Caldecott Honors for McElligot’s Pool, If I Ran the Zoo, and Bartholomew and the Oobleck; the Pulitzer Prize; and eight honorary doctorates.
