About This Item

London: National Honey Show, 1936. Book. Good. Paperback. First Edition. 8vo. a small collection of rare apicultural ephemera, one programme of which with excellent provenance as it was the copy belonging to the Show Commmittee chairman The Rev. D. L. Bryce and was especially interleaved with blank pages for his notes. Archive as follows: 1) Programme fo the 14th National Honey Show, 1936 Crystal Palace; 24 pages with entry form loosely inserted; with separate stapled pamphlet Award List for 1936; this programme was owned by the Rev. D. L. Bryce with his signature and "for notes" to the head of the front cover; interleaved with blank pages, upon which written his various pencil notes [the 1936 show took place beginning of October - it must have been one of the last exhibitions in the Crystal Palace, as it burned down a month later. 2) programme fo the [15th] National Honey Show, 1937 Royal Horticultural Hall; 8 pages [a much more simple publication, perhaps because a new venue had to be hurriedly found]. 3) programme fo the 16th National Honey Show, 1938 RHS Hall; 24 pages with entry form; loosely typed letter and agenda for the Executive Committee meeting 1938. 4) programme fo the 17th National Honey Show, 1939 Bath Halls, Wimbledon; 24 pages with entry form. 5) one page leaflet for "Essay Classes" for the 1939 honey show. 6) Folding application form for the Election as Member. Condition generally good/very good, most staples rusty, programme for the14th 1936 show with some ink soiling to the back panel. An interesting collection of rare ephemera..
