About This Item

Sydney, NSW: Ure Smith Pty Limited, 1946. 1st Edition . Hardcover. Very Good/Fair. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. Streeton's letters, written between 1888 and 1932, provide unique insights to the Australian school of landscape painting. Hardcover bound in green cloth with titling in dark blue to the spine. Includes eight colour plates -- seven paintings by Streeton, one by Charles Conder -- plus eight b&w plates and an Index. We rate the book as Very Good, but with reservations: the binding is firm and the book has no markings, but there is a minor slant to the binding and pages are a bit musty. The dust jacket is only fair, with substantial chips missing from the spine ends and top edge, but is now encased in an archival dust jacket cover. A couple of clippings found laid in (Elizabeth and Charles on an Australian visit; a short poem evoking the land) have been passed along, though their relevance is not entirely clear.

About Pulp & Circumstance

Welcome to Pulp & Circumstance on Biblio. Once a brick and mortar bookseller, I am pleased that I can now offer scarce and/or collectible books and other items via this platform.

P&C strives to ensure that all items are clean and fairly described. Packages will be wrapped with care and dispatched as soon as feasible, usually on the next business day.

We do not use stock photos. All our photos are of the actual item offered for sale. We try to include the publishers' own descriptions of content by including photos of dust jacket flaps and back covers so far as they seem useful, and we also use photos to show material flaws where we can.

The "Pulp & Circumstance" watermark you might notice in some of our photos does not, of course, appear on any of the items themselves.

Please note that the colour in our photos often fails to come out right. The hue shifts a bit due to the limitations of our equipment, the lighting in our workshop, and of course my own lack of photographic expertise.

Shipping costs per book are always cheaper when more than one book is sent in the same package. Read more about shipping charges in "Terms of Sale" below.

Feel free to ask any questions you might have by email. We will usually respond within 24 hours. Happy browsing!
