About This Item
Philadelphia: Philadelphia Solidarity, 1975. A near complete run (nine of 12 published issues) of this Philadelphia libertarian socialist (i.e., anarchist) newspaper. Philadelphia Solidarity began as the Philadelphia branch of Socialist Reconstruction, which emerged from various splits in the Socialist Labor Party. Members were involved in labor organizing in Philadelphia, in republishing material from the London Solidarity Group, and with founding Philadelphia's Wooden Shoe Bookstore in 1976, one of the longest-running anarchist bookstores in the U.S. Issues included here: Nos. 2, 3-4 (double issue), 5-6, 7-8 (double issue), 11-12. Lacking issues 1, 9-10.
