1882. John Wiley & Sons. New York. 1882. First edition. Tall slim 8vo. Original royal blue boards with gilt decorations to front cover which is ruled in black. Spine is dulled and faded with rubbing to head and tail and a small patch of rubbing to cloth of back cover near joint with spine. Frontis. 7 plates and many diagrams and figures to text. The frontis. and 2 other plates use pink to highlight some of the faces of the pyramids. Small address plate to front pastedown and two ownership incriptions, one of them more modern, to dedication page. Pages slightly browned. Slight signs of use to contents otherwise a clean and sound copy.
