London: Constable & Co., 1919. First Limited Edition. Full Calf. Very Good. Number 427 of 575 of the first signed limited edition. Large 4to. 29 by 23.5 cm. With 16 tipped-in color plates and 24 text vignettes. Among the favorite ballads the full-color illustrations bring to life are "Lord Randal", "Chevy Chase", "The Twa Corbies" and "Sir Patrick Spens". Latimore & Haskell 50-1. Riall 137. Contemporary full blue calf, with silk moire endpapers, handsomely bound by Monastery Hill. T.e.g. Front joint expertly repaired. A number of small abrasions on spine. Abraded edges as well, especially front upper edge. Text and plates are clean.
