Program for a song recital by Gertrud Wettergren given at Montclair High School Auditorium, Montclair, New Jersey on November 19th, 1937 as part of the 1937-38 season of the Unity Institute's Unity Concert Course.
Gertrud Wettergren [1897-1991] was a Swedish mezzo-soprano who sang with the Royal Swedish Opera between 1922 and 1948. She made her American debut in "Aida" at the the Metropolitan Opera in New York in 1935. Her roles at the Met included Brangane in "Tristan und Isolde" and Venus in "Tannhauser. She opened the 1936-37 season in "Samson and Dalila", giving her last performance there in January 1938.
