Condition: Fine, no inscriptions.Slipcase condition: Good, with general light scuffing and shelfwear. 297pp. Illustrated with seven colour plates by Simon Pemberton. The Songlines was first published by Jonathan Cape in 1987. This edition, with minor emendations was published by the Folio Society in 2010, with an introduction by Nicholas Shakespeare. .

Synopsis

Follow Chatwin on his journey into the 'Red Centre' of Australia. Part autobiography, part story, part history, part anthropology. Teaches us how Aboriginal Australians perceive their landscapes, and negotiate with each other in that vast, nomadic environment.
