About This Item

S. Dominic's Press, Ditchling., 1921. Second edition. Octavo. pp [iv], 55. Five wood-engravings [by Desmond Chute], which are so much in the manner of Eric Gill that they are often wrongly attributed to him. The Press device on the title-page is by Eric Gill. Cloth-backed brown paper boards. Printed on mouldmade paper. On the front free endpaper is the 1927 ownership signature of the Catholic writer Daniel Sargent who was himself published by the Saint Dominic's Press in 1930.Spine rubbed and lacking the printed title-label. A hole in the front and rear endpapers, this being a flaw in the paper. Very good. Scarce.
