This set includes the supplementary seventh volume covering "The Guerilla War: From February 1901 to the conclusion of hostilities; the development of peace negotiations from February 23, 1901, to May 31, 1902", and provides a complete history of the War itself. Creswicke's eighth volume, which looks at the future of South Africa, is not included. Covers somewhat rubbed, with flaking of spine ends and corners; backstrip of seventh volume missing (simple duct tape repair); scattered light foxing; occasional archival tape reinforcing to gutters. Good condition. Hackett's 'South African War Books: An illustrated bibliography' lists the editions by T.C. & E.C. Jack of Edinburgh, by The Caxton Publishing Co. of London, and by The Publishers Syndicate of Toronto (pp. 80, 139), the pagination of which corresponds with this Blackwood edition.
