Ecco, 2003. Limited ed. Hardcover. Very Good/very good. One of 300 numbered copies (of which this is No. 99) signed by Bukowski on the limitation page (there were also 50 hand bound copies with an original drawing by the author). Hardcover in white paper covered boards printed in black and red, over red and black patterned cloth spine with paper title label on spine. 189 pp. plus limitation page on the verso of which is a photographic portrait of Bukowski. A tight, internally fresh example, with some light foxing along the upper and lower portions of both boards. In the original acetate dust wrapper with small tear along the foot of the spine. Subtitled "Stories of a Buried Life" a collection of short prose pieces.

Synopsis

Charles Bukowski is one of America's best-known contemporary writers of poetry and prose, and, many would claim, its most influential and imitated poet. He was born in Andernach, Germany, and raised in Los Angeles, where he lived for fifty years. He published his first story in 1944, when he was twenty-four, and began writing poetry at the age of thirty-five. He died in San Pedro, California, on March 9, 1994, at the age of seventy-three, shortly after completing his last novel, Pulp (1994).
