NY: MacMillan Book. Very Good. Hardcover. 1905. New Edition, two volumes in one, xv, 376; 411pp, index, illustrated with one hundred original drawings by Henry Brokman. TEG. Extremities lightly worn, else VG. Bookplates of two previous owners. Gilt lettering and design very bright. Tipped in on the title page is a signature of the author with the notation - New York, Feb 4, 1898. The author was born in Italy, and after being away for a number of years, returned in 1883 to make it his permanent home. This work is said to be a military and political history from prehistoric times to the mid sixteenth century. A heavy volume; will require the shipping charges for two books..
