FIRST EDITION circa 1850, folio approximately 460 x 360 mm, 18 x 14 inches, lithographed pictorial title, 24 full page sepia lithographs on heavy paper, captioned in French, Arabic and English; no text, 12 costume plates by Bida and 12 plates of views by Barbot, rebound in modern half blue calf, marbled covers, black gilt lettered title label, gilt decoration to raised bands, marbled endpapers. Trimmed copy, all plates have pale foxing, slightly heavy on a few plates,1 plate has a pale pink tinge to margins (see image), all plates mounted on cloth tabs very good restored copy.
